The story itself is interesting and a bit frightening. The sun is dying, and organisms called astrophage are feeding on it. That idea alone adds intensity to the movie. However, the film is not entirely serious. Humor is sprinkled throughout, and it works well. The jokes help keep the audience engaged and make the main character, Dr. Grace, feel more human.
