Donate today – The Advocate Donation Drive for Barney’s Pantry

The Advocate is holding a Donation Drive this holiday season, to benefit Barney’s Pantry.  

Barney’s Pantry is an emergency food resource created by students for students. It provides emergency food services, education, and other resources so that MHCC students can reach their education goals.    The Advocate will be collecting items for our Donation Drive through Friday, Dec. 9 – last day of Fall Term classes. All of our donations will be delivered to Barney’s Pantry during the ensuring finals week.   

Items accepted

High value items:  

– cookies 

– crackers 

– nuts 

– chips 

– fruit snacks 

– pasta sauce 

– peanut butter 

– canned soup 

– tuna (huge need!) 

Staple items for Barney’s Pantry: 

– canned beans 

– canned veggies 

– canned fruit 

– mac ’n cheese 

– rice 

– any other shelf-stable food items 

Personal hygiene items: 

– lotion 

– shampoo and conditioner 

– toothpaste 

– toothbrushes 

– tampons 

– pads 

Please drop off donations outside the Advocate newsroom, Room 1369 in the Integrated Media building.
