The 2014 MHCC Saints softball team was one of the most dominant in program history, and this year the NWAC Hall of Fame committee voted to recognize their accomplishments. Alongside the entire team, standout athlete Teauna Hughes is also being inducted for her exceptional performance during the 2014 season.

The Saints went 40-3 that year and captured the championship. It was possibly the high-water mark of then-head coach Meadow McWhorter, who has already been inducted into the NWAC Hall of Fame. McWhorter has since gone on to coach Portland State’s softball program, where her accomplishments include a win over the then-No. 23 Oregon State Beavers.

“This team embodied everything we strive for at MHCC — discipline, teamwork and a relentless commitment to improvement,” said Dr. Kim Hyatt. “Their induction into the NWAC Hall of Fame is a well-deserved recognition of a truly special group.”

The ceremony will take place June 4, 2026, at the Sheraton Portland Airport.
