MHCC FORENSICS TEAM FINISHES 5th FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGES IN COMPETITION

This past weekend, four members of the MHCC Forensics Team participated in the Steve Hunt Classic, co-sponsored by Lewis and Clark College and Whitman College. 70 2 and 4-year colleges and universities from 26 states including Penn State, Western Kentucky University, Central Florida University, Ohlone College and Boise State, participated in the very competitive 3-day tournament. 

While MHCC may have had a small entry – they were mighty, advancing all individual events to semi-finals or finals. The total team effort earned MHCC 5th place team sweepstakes honors.Earning Honors for MHCC: Lexi Glenn: Semi-FinalistJunior Extemporaneous Speaking, 3rd Place (Tie) – Junior Editorial Commentary 

Edith Ramirez3rd place (Unbreakable Tie with teammate Glenn) – Junior Editorial Commentary 

Shalynn Rivas5th Place – Novice Editorial Commentary

Justine DeVore4th Place – Novice Editorial Commentary The team will next see action at the Bellevue College Scrimmages on October 20th and November 3rd and Diablo Valley College on November 19-21st
