Hello MHCC colleagues,

Here is an opportunity to learn about Japanese culture through the art of Ikebana: Flower Arrangement. Please forward this information to your students and anyone who might be interested in participating. They will need to sign up before the event. Though this event is organized for students, staff and faculty are also welcome to participate. Nana Bellerud, Sogetsu Certified Teacher/Director of Sogetsu Portland will give short presentation of Japanese style flower arrangement. By keeping in mind the principles learned from the presentation, participants will make their own arrangements using common tools, household items and plant materials found around home. Mrs. Bellerud’s works are often found at Portland Japanese Garden. Click here now for more details and for registration.

Confirmation email will include the Zoom and prep information. Nana-sensei’s ikebana works are on Instagram (@nana_bellerud) as she posts different ikebana every day! You can check out her works here, too. Friday 10am-11:00am 5/28 by ZoomFree for MHCC students
